AC Milan Stuns Inter 3-1 in Derby della Madonnina at San Siro
Rafael Leao scores twice as Rossoneri deliver emphatic victory in Milan derby, boosting Champions League hopes.

AC Milan delivered a statement performance in the Derby della Madonnina, defeating crosstown rivals Inter Milan 3-1 at San Siro on Sunday in one of the most memorable derbies in recent years.

Rafael Leao was the hero for the Rossoneri, scoring twice in the first half to give Milan complete control of the match. The Portuguese winger's pace and directness caused Inter's defense constant problems, with his second goal coming from a brilliant solo run that left three defenders in his wake.

"This is what the derby is all about," Leao said after the match. "The fans deserve performances like this, and beating Inter in our home is always special. We showed great character and quality today, and this victory will give us confidence for the rest of the season."

Christian Pulisic added a third goal in the 73rd minute with a composed finish from inside the box, capping off a dominant team performance that silenced the Inter supporters in the stadium. The American winger has been in excellent form since joining Milan, and his goal sealed a comprehensive victory for Stefano Pioli's side.

Inter managed a consolation goal through Lautaro Martinez in the 85th minute, but it was too little too late as Milan controlled the majority of the match. The Nerazzurri looked flat and struggled to create meaningful chances against a well-organized Milan defense anchored by Fikayo Tomori and Pierre Kalulu.

The victory moves Milan to within four points of the Champions League qualification places and provides crucial momentum as they chase European competition for next season. For Inter, the defeat is a setback in their title challenge, though they remain in second place behind league leaders Napoli. The derby result will be remembered as one of Milan's finest performances of the season and a reminder of their ability to compete with Italy's elite when firing on all cylinders.
