Roman Josi Records Four Assists as Predators Overwhelm Blackhawks 7-2
Nashville captain sets franchise record for assists by defenseman in single game during dominant victory over Chicago.

Roman Josi etched his name deeper into Nashville Predators history on Sunday night, recording four assists to tie the franchise record for helpers by a defenseman in a single game as Nashville demolished the Chicago Blackhawks 7-2 at Bridgestone Arena.

The Swiss captain was instrumental in orchestrating the Predators' offensive explosion, setting up goals by Filip Forsberg, Matt Duchene, Ryan McDonagh, and Gustav Nyquist with pinpoint passing and exceptional vision from the blue line. Josi's four-assist performance tied Shea Weber's franchise record set in 2016 and showcased why he remains one of the NHL's elite two-way defensemen.

"Roman was absolutely brilliant tonight," said Predators head coach John Hynes. "His ability to read the play and find teammates in scoring positions is world-class. When he's moving the puck like that and quarterbacking our power play, we're a very dangerous team."

Nashville's offensive barrage began early, with three first-period goals setting the tone for what would become a comprehensive victory. Forsberg led the way with two goals and an assist, while Duchene added a goal and two helpers in a dominant team performance that saw 11 different Predators record at least one point.

Chicago struggled to generate sustained offensive pressure against Nashville's suffocating defensive structure. Connor Bedard managed to score his 25th goal of the season for the Blackhawks, but the young superstar couldn't single-handedly overcome his team's defensive lapses and goaltending struggles.

The victory moves Nashville to 32-22-4 on the season and solidifies their position in the Western Conference playoff race. Josi's continued excellence at age 33 provides the foundation for what could be a deep postseason run, with the veteran defenseman showing no signs of slowing down as he approaches 1,000 career games. His leadership and production from the back end make the Predators a dangerous opponent for any team come playoff time.
