UFC Set to Part Ways With Michael Page After Contract Expires

Michael 'Venom' Page is set to leave the UFC after completing his contract with the promotion. UFC president Dana White confirmed that the British fighter's most recent appearance was the last bout on his deal and said the organization did not expect to sign him again, according to BBC Sport.

Page, 39, joined the UFC in December 2023 on a six-fight contract after a long spell with Bellator. He completed that agreement on Saturday with a decision victory over Nursulton Ruziboev in Paris. The performance drew boos from sections of the crowd, and BBC Sport characterized the win as underwhelming.

The London fighter finished his UFC run with five wins and one defeat while competing at welterweight and middleweight. Each of his five victories went to the judges' scorecards. Page acknowledged after the Ruziboev fight that his time in the promotion had not produced what he had wanted to deliver.

Page had expressed interest in discussing his future with the UFC, but the promotion removed him from its rankings after Saturday's contest. White subsequently clarified that the bout had fulfilled Page's contract and that the UFC was not planning to offer another agreement. His removal from the rankings reflected that he was no longer on the roster.

The decision makes Page a free agent at a late stage of a career defined by an unconventional striking style. BBC Sport reported that the former Bellator fighter could consider a move to the Professional Fighters League or a switch to boxing, but no next destination has been confirmed.

Page's overall mixed martial arts record stands at 26 wins and three defeats, with 16 of those victories coming by stoppage. His UFC chapter therefore ends with a strong win-loss record but without a stoppage victory inside the promotion, leaving his next competitive move unresolved.
