NBA All-Star Weekend Delivers Record-Breaking Performances in San Antonio
This year's NBA All-Star Weekend in San Antonio featured historic scoring displays and memorable moments across all events.

The 2026 NBA All-Star Weekend in San Antonio concluded Sunday night with one of the most entertaining showcases in recent memory, as players delivered record-breaking performances across multiple events at the Alamodome.

The weekend kicked off Friday with the Rising Stars Challenge, where Team World edged Team USA 145-142 in a thrilling overtime battle. Second-year guard Victor Wembanyama of the San Antonio Spurs energized the home crowd with a dominant 28-point, 12-rebound performance, showcasing the versatility that has made him one of the league's most exciting young talents.

Saturday night's skills competitions provided their own memorable moments. The Three-Point Contest saw Miami Heat guard Tyler Herro claim his first title with a final-round score of 28 points, tying the contest record. Meanwhile, the Slam Dunk Contest delivered vintage excitement as Denver Nuggets forward Aaron Gordon reclaimed the crown he narrowly missed in previous years, throwing down a series of creative dunks that had the crowd on its feet.

Sunday's main event lived up to all expectations as Team LeBron defeated Team Giannis 196-183 in the highest-scoring All-Star Game in NBA history. Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James, playing in his 20th All-Star Game, turned back the clock with 35 points and 12 assists to earn his fourth All-Star Game MVP award. The 39-year-old veteran seemed to draw energy from the competitive atmosphere, hitting seven three-pointers and facilitating spectacular plays throughout the contest.

The game featured minimal defense by design, allowing both teams to showcase their offensive creativity. Boston Celtics forward Jayson Tatum added 31 points for Team LeBron, while Milwaukee Bucks star Giannis Antetokounmpo led his squad with 38 points and 15 rebounds in a losing effort. The pace never slowed as both teams shot better than 60% from the field and combined for 47 three-pointers made.

Beyond the on-court action, this year's All-Star Weekend emphasized community impact and youth development. The NBA announced a $2 million commitment to San Antonio-area youth basketball programs, continuing the league's tradition of leaving a lasting legacy in host cities. Several players participated in community events throughout the weekend, including visits to local schools and basketball clinics for aspiring young athletes.
