Wiesberger Ends Five-Year Title Drought with Dominant DP World Tour Victory in Singapore
Austria's Bernd Wiesberger clinched his first DP World Tour title since 2021, delivering a commanding performance at the Singapore Open that showcased his return to top form after battling injuries.

Bernd Wiesberger has broken free from a frustrating five-year title drought, delivering a masterclass performance to win the Singapore Open and announce his return to the upper echelons of professional golf.

Watch the highlights:

The Austrian star carded a final round of 65 to finish at 19-under par, four strokes clear of his nearest competitor. The victory at Sentosa Golf Club marks his 11th DP World Tour title and provides vindication after years of battling injury setbacks that threatened to derail his career.

"This means everything to me," Wiesberger said in his winner's interview. "The past five years have tested me in ways I never expected. There were times I questioned whether I'd ever win again. To stand here as a champion is incredible."

Wiesberger's journey back to winner's circle has been arduous. The 39-year-old struggled with a wrist injury that required surgery and forced him to reassess his approach to the game. His patience and dedication to rehabilitation finally paid dividends in Singapore.

Starting the final day one stroke ahead, Wiesberger built momentum with four birdies on the front nine. His composure under pressure was particularly evident on the back nine, where he made crucial par saves that kept his competitors at bay.

"I focused on the process rather than the outcome," Wiesberger explained. "My team and I built a plan, and I trusted it every day. Today I played freely and that made the difference."

The victory propels Wiesberger back into the top 50 of the Official World Golf Ranking and secures his place in upcoming major championships. His performance in Singapore suggests he possesses the game to compete at the highest level once more.

Fellow professionals took notice of his triumph. "Bernd is one of the good guys in our sport," said a competitor. "His determination through adversity is inspiring. This win is well deserved."

With his confidence restored, Wiesberger sets his sights on further success in 2026, aiming to prove this victory marks the beginning of a new chapter rather than a solitary highlight.
