Warrington condemn Wigan to fourth consecutive Super League defeat in dominant display
Warrington Wolves delivered a masterclass in attacking rugby league to condemn rivals Wigan to their fourth straight loss, with Stefan Ratchford's side producing their most complete performance of the season in a thumping victory.

Warrington Wolves produced their most devastating performance of the season to crush Wigan Warriors 38-12 at the Halliwell Jones Stadium, inflicting a fourth consecutive Super League defeat on their bitter rivals and sending a warning to the rest of the competition. The hosts were irresistible from the kickoff, with former Wigan academy product Josh McGough scoring two tries in the opening 20 minutes to set the tone for what would become a one-sided contest. Wigan, without the suspended Bevan French, looked completely disjointed in all areas of their game, with their usually watertight defense crumbling under sustained Warrington pressure. Stefan Ratchford orchestrated the victory with a masterful display at fullback, creating three tries and slotting six conversions for a personal tally of 16 points. The Warriors' cause was not helped by a catastrophic error early in the second half when dummy-half Harry Lightfoot-Rice was sin-binned for a professional foul, allowing Warrington to extend their lead from 20-12 to an unassailable 32-12 within 10 minutes. Head coach Sam Burgess, who has faced intense scrutiny following Wigan's recent slide down the table, cut a frustrated figure on the sidelines as his side's defensive errors mounted. "We're not hiding behind anything - that performance was unacceptable from a Wigan side," Burgess admitted. The victory moves Warrington up to fifth in the Super League standings, just four points behind leaders Catalans Dragons with a game in hand.
