Ulberg Storms Back with Stunning Knockout to Claim UFC Gold at 327
Carlos Ulberg overcame a debilitating knee injury and a dominant Jiri Prochazka to score a dramatic come-from-behind knockout and capture UFC gold at the Kaseya Center in Miami.

Carlos Ulberg has been counted out before. On Saturday night at UFC 327 inside the Kaseya Center in Miami, he did it again in spectacular fashion.

The newly crowned UFC light heavyweight champion suffered a serious knee injury early in the first round against former champion Jiri Prochazka, leaving him barely able to move around the cage. Prochazka, aggressive and relentless as ever, pressed forward looking to finish what appeared to be an inevitable victory.

But Ulberg refused to go away. Despite being compromised and essentially stationary, he dug deep into his reserves and fired back with anything he had left. In a moment that left the Miami crowd in stunned silence before erupting, Ulberg connected with a picture-perfect check left hook that put Prochazka on the canvas. The finish came at the 3:45 mark of round one, sealing one of the most unlikely title wins in recent UFC history.

The co-main event delivered its own drama. Paulo Costa turned in a vintage performance, finishing the previously unbeaten Azamat Murzakanov with a head kick TKO in the third round at 1:23. It was a statement win for the Brazilian middleweight contender.

Also stealing the show in his final professional fight, veteran Cub Swanson dispatched Nate Landwehr with a first-round TKO at 4:06 in what was an emotional retirement bout. The crowd gave the longtime UFC stalwart a standing ovation as he walked away from the sport.

The night featured an absolute war between Josh Hokit and Curtis Blaydes in the heavyweight division. After a back-and-forth thriller, the judges awarded Hokit a unanimous decision (29-28, 29-28, 29-28). Both fighters took home $100,000 for Fight of the Night, with Hokit earning an additional $100,000 Performance of the Night bonus.

Ulberg, Hokit, Costa, Swanson, Mateusz Gamrot, Tatiana Suarez, and Vicente Luque were each awarded $25,000 finish bonuses for their performances.
