Truro report En-Neyah stable after medical emergency postpones Folkestone match
Truro City say Yassine En-Neyah is stable and will remain in hospital overnight after needing medical assistance during the warm-up. Their National League South match at Folkestone Invicta was postponed.

Truro City midfielder Yassine En-Neyah was in a stable condition in hospital on Saturday evening after a medical emergency during the warm-up forced the postponement of his team’s National League South match at Folkestone Invicta. The Guardian reported that Truro’s latest statement said the 26-year-old was responsive, able to sit up and speaking, but would remain under observation overnight.

Watch the highlights:

En-Neyah was taken to William Harvey Hospital in Ashford for further treatment after receiving medical assistance before the scheduled fixture. The match had initially been delayed before it was called off. According to The Independent’s report, the postponement was confirmed at 3:14pm GMT, 14 minutes after the original kick-off time, with no play having taken place.

Truro’s evening update thanked their own medical staff, the Folkestone medical team and other personnel at the home club for their response. The statement, reported by the Guardian, also acknowledged offers of assistance from the National League and Football Association, along with messages of support from Truro supporters and the wider football community.

En-Neyah had been named among Truro’s substitutes for the visit to Kent, according to reporting by Will Schofield. Both clubs issued confirmation that the match would not go ahead. Truro’s initial announcement identified the player and the hospital where he was receiving treatment, before the later update provided more information about his condition.

The midfielder’s career has included time in England and Ireland. The Independent reported that he was born in Morocco, moved to Dublin as a child and represented the Republic of Ireland at youth level. He progressed through Nottingham Forest’s academy and made his senior debut as a substitute against Chelsea in an FA Cup third-round match in January 2020.

After leaving Forest in 2021, En-Neyah spent time with Shelbourne and Waterford before first joining Truro in February 2023. He subsequently moved to Colchester United and had a loan spell at Maldon & Tiptree before returning to Truro in 2024. Saturday’s club update did not specify the cause of the medical emergency or give a timetable for his return to football.
