Travis Hunter makes two-way history as Texans beat Jaguars at Wembley
Travis Hunter became the first NFL player since 2002 to record a touchdown catch and an interception in the same game. Jacksonville still lost 34-31 to Houston in the final game of this year’s London series.

Travis Hunter recorded a touchdown catch and an interception in the same NFL game as the Jacksonville Jaguars lost 34-31 to the Houston Texans at Wembley. BBC Sport reported that Hunter became the first player to achieve that combination since Philadelphia Eagles safety Brian Dawkins in 2002, and only the fourth since the NFL merger in 1970.

Watch the highlights:

Both of Hunter's milestone plays came in the fourth quarter of Sunday's divisional meeting. His interception helped set up a Cam Little field goal that brought Jacksonville level at 31-31. Houston then secured victory through a Ka'imi Fairbairn field goal, ending a game in which Hunter's contributions on both sides of the ball were not enough to deliver a Jaguars win.

Hunter finished with four receptions for 59 yards and accounted for Jacksonville's only interception. The 23-year-old plays wide receiver and cornerback, and the performance came in his 13th NFL appearance. Taken second overall in the 2025 draft, he entered the league intending to become its first full-time two-way player in three decades, according to the BBC report.

The finish reversed Jacksonville's experience from the previous week, when the Jaguars had beaten the Philadelphia Eagles with a late winning play at Tottenham. They stayed in London for the Houston fixture but this time were on the losing side of a close finish. The defeat left Jacksonville with a 4-2 record, while Houston collected its second victory of the season.

The 65 points made the contest the highest-scoring NFL game in London since 2015, BBC Sport reported. It also completed this year's London series. Fairbairn's decisive kick settled the result after Little had tied the scores, separating two divisional opponents in a game that remained unresolved deep into the final quarter.

For Hunter, the outcome meant a rare individual achievement accompanied a team defeat. His receiving touchdown and interception placed him alongside a small group in the league's post-merger history, while the Jaguars left Wembley without a second consecutive London victory. Houston took the win despite the late possession change created by Jacksonville's two-way player.
