Tottenham Agree Record £75m Deal for Manchester City Winger Savinho
Tottenham have agreed a £75 million fee plus £10 million in add-ons for Manchester City winger Savinho. The proposed transfer would become City's record sale if completed.

Tottenham have agreed a deal worth an initial £75 million, with a further £10 million in add-ons, to sign Manchester City winger Savinho, according to BBC Sport. The transfer was described as close to completion on Sunday but had not yet been formally completed, making the 22-year-old's move to north London still subject to the remaining steps in the process.

Watch the highlights:

If finalized, the initial fee would make Savinho Manchester City's record sale. The Brazil international arrived at City from French club Troyes for £30.8 million in 2024 after developing within the City Football Group network, which has links to 12 clubs worldwide. His proposed departure would represent a major return on that investment after two seasons in Manchester.

Savinho originally joined Troyes from Atletico Mineiro in 2022 but did not play a competitive match for the French side. He spent the 2022-23 season on loan at PSV before joining Girona, another City Football Group club, for the following campaign. At Girona he played 37 league matches, scoring nine goals and providing eight assists as the club qualified for the Champions League for the first time.

Manchester City then brought him into Pep Guardiola's squad. BBC Sport reports that Savinho made 48 appearances during his first season and produced 16 goal contributions in all competitions. His eight Premier League assists were the highest total among City players that campaign. Across his two Premier League seasons, he scored twice and recorded 12 assists.

City Football Group managing director of global football Brian Marwood told BBC Sport that the organization regards Savinho's progression as a success. He pointed to the route from South America through affiliated European clubs and ultimately to City's first team, followed by the prospect of a significant transfer fee. Girona sporting director Quique Carcel also said the Spanish club had wanted to retain Savinho after qualifying for the Champions League, but City decided to include him in their senior squad.

For Tottenham, the fee reflects the promise Savinho showed most clearly during his season in La Liga, when he was selected in the league's team of the year. For City and their wider ownership network, the transaction would complete a four-year development path and generate a substantial profit. The deal's final value will depend on whether the transfer is completed and which add-on conditions are eventually met.
