Tenerife confirm Jesús de Miguel has died aged 30 after match collision
CD Tenerife confirmed that Jesús de Miguel died on Tuesday morning after a collision during Monday’s match against Andorra. The 30-year-old forward’s family has asked for privacy.

CD Tenerife have announced the death of forward Jesús de Miguel at the age of 30 following a collision during Monday’s Spanish second-division match against FC Andorra. In an official statement, the club said Jesús de Miguel Alameda died at 8am on Tuesday, November 3, and expressed its support for his family and loved ones.

The incident occurred late in the match at Estadio Heliodoro Rodríguez López, when De Miguel and Andorra goalkeeper Jesús Owono collided while challenging for the ball. Spanish news agency EFE reported that medical staff treated the forward on the pitch before he was taken by ambulance to hospital. The match was halted to allow the emergency response.

De Miguel was admitted to Hospital Universitario Nuestra Señora de Candelaria in Santa Cruz de Tenerife. Earlier reporting by Canary Islands broadcaster RTVC said he was in intensive care and that the club had described his condition as stable but serious. In an overnight update reported by EFE, Tenerife said his neurological condition had worsened.

Tuesday morning’s announcement confirmed his death after those earlier medical updates. Tenerife said the player’s family was grateful for the expressions of support it had received and asked that its privacy be respected. The club’s statement conveyed its grief and solidarity with those close to the striker.

Born in Madrid on September 21, 1996, De Miguel joined Tenerife in July 2025 after playing for Castellón, according to RTVC’s career profile. The broadcaster reported that he scored 11 goals in Primera Federación during Tenerife’s promotion campaign, forming an attacking partnership with Enric Gallego before the club returned to the second division.

His career also included spells with Leganés B, Internacional de Madrid, Fuenlabrada, Unión Adarve, Navalcarnero and Unionistas de Salamanca. RTVC reported that he was part of a promotion-winning Fuenlabrada side and later scored 12 goals for Unionistas in the 2021-22 season. Those years preceded his move to Castellón and then Tenerife, where he contributed to another promotion before Monday’s match was interrupted by the collision.
