Teddy Wilson earns Australia call-up as Les Kiss names November squad
Australia have selected Waratahs scrum-half Teddy Wilson in a 33-player squad for November's Nations Championship Tests. Len Ikitau also returns from injury as Les Kiss names his touring group.

Teddy Wilson has been named in Australia's squad for November's Nations Championship Tests, joining a 33-player group selected by coach Les Kiss. BBC Sport reported that the Waratahs scrum-half will provide cover alongside Tate McDermott for first-choice number nine Ryan Lonergan. Centre Len Ikitau is also included after returning from injury.

Watch the highlights:

Wilson previously captained Australia at the 2023 Under-20 World Championships and has earned his selection following strong performances for the Waratahs, according to the BBC report. His inclusion places him among three scrum-halves in the touring party, with Lonergan and McDermott also listed among the backs. Harry Wilson is named as captain of the squad.

The call-up adds another family connection to the Wallabies. Teddy's father, David Wilson, made 79 appearances for Australia and played at open-side flanker in the team that defeated France in the 1999 Rugby World Cup final at Cardiff's Millennium Stadium. He later joined Harlequins in 2000 before moving into business, while his World Cup final jersey remains on display at the family home.

Speaking about his father's influence, Teddy described a supportive relationship without pressure to follow the same sporting career. He said David offers advice but generally allows him to play his own game. Other members of the November squad with fathers who represented Australia include wing Max Jorgensen, prop Angus Bell and hooker Josh Nasser, extending that family theme beyond the new scrum-half selection.

Exeter flanker Tom Hooper and Racing 92 prop Taniela Tupou have also been selected. Ikitau's return brings back a centre who spent last season at Sandy Park alongside Hooper. The announced group contains 19 forwards and 14 backs, with Ben Donaldson, Carter Gordon, Joseph-Aukuso Suaalii and Tom Wright among the other backline selections.

Australia begin their November programme against England at Twickenham's Allianz Stadium on 8 November, then face Scotland and Wales on the following weekends. They are scheduled to return to Allianz Stadium on the final weekend of the month for a play-off against a northern-hemisphere opponent. That fixture forms part of the concluding stage of the new Nations Championship format.
