Taylor scores twice as Colts beat Commanders 30-13 in London
Jonathan Taylor scored two rushing touchdowns as Indianapolis returned to 2-2 with a 30-13 win in London. Washington lost Marcus Mariota to a knee injury and finished the game with rookie Athan Kaliakmanis at quarterback.

Jonathan Taylor rushed for two touchdowns as the Indianapolis Colts defeated the Washington Commanders 30-13 at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Sunday, October 4. The victory brought Indianapolis to 2-2, while Washington slipped to 1-3 after losing another quarterback to injury during the London matchup.

Watch the highlights:

According to Washington's official game report, Marcus Mariota suffered a knee injury after a sack on the team's second possession. He had started in place of Jayden Daniels, who was unavailable with an elbow injury. Rookie seventh-round selection Athan Kaliakmanis took over, leaving the Commanders to play most of the contest with their third quarterback. Washington had established a 6-0 advantage but could not maintain that early momentum.

Indianapolis recovered from a difficult opening half in which Daniel Jones committed two turnovers. The Colts' official recap described how an unnecessary roughness penalty against Washington extended the possession that produced Taylor's first five-yard touchdown run. Spencer Shrader added a field goal before the interval, sending Indianapolis into halftime with a 10-6 lead despite its uneven offensive start.

The Colts then turned a Jaylon Carlies interception into another Taylor touchdown early in the third quarter. Both of Taylor's scoring runs covered five yards. Kaliakmanis responded by finding Treylon Burks for a 47-yard touchdown, cutting Washington's deficit to 17-13 and briefly bringing the game back within a single score.

Sky Sports reported that Taylor finished with 95 rushing yards on 20 carries. Jones completed 19 of 34 passes for 143 yards with an interception, but contributed a four-yard rushing touchdown early in the fourth quarter. Shrader finished with three field goals as Indianapolis pulled away, scoring the final 13 points after Burks' touchdown.

Kaliakmanis ended his debut with 186 passing yards, one touchdown and one interception on 15 completions from 33 attempts, Washington reported. The team said Mariota's availability for next week had not been determined and that Daniels was expected at Wednesday's practice. Washington next hosts the New York Giants, with the quarterback situation still unresolved after a third defeat in four games.
