Tarkowski's Late Equalizer Earns Everton Draw at Bournemouth

James Tarkowski scored an added-time equalizer as Everton secured a 1-1 Premier League draw against Bournemouth at the Vitality Stadium on Saturday. Alex Scott had given the home side a first-half lead, but Bournemouth were unable to protect it through the closing stages.

The Guardian reported that Everton made the more assertive start despite arriving amid uncertainty around their squad. The visitors registered eight shots in the opening 30 minutes, with Jarrad Branthwaite going close and Bournemouth goalkeeper Djordje Petrovic fumbling an effort from Tyrique George. Bournemouth grew into the match as Rayan began to cause problems on the flank. The breakthrough came just before the interval when Evanilson found Scott. The midfielder controlled the pass, created room with a change of direction and drove his finish beyond Jordan Pickford to send Bournemouth into halftime in front.

Everton had further attacking moments, including a Barry effort into the side netting after work from Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, but Bournemouth carried the greater threat after the restart. Scott helped direct the hosts' play, while full-back Adrien Truffert contributed to combinations that put Everton under increasing pressure.

David Moyes introduced Beto for Barry after Hayden Hackney had also entered the game, but Everton struggled to recreate their earlier fluency. Pickford was required to make important interventions as Bournemouth sought a second goal, with the goalkeeper and Hackney helping keep out goal-bound attempts from Rayan and Evanilson. Those missed chances left the contest within Everton's reach.

The equalizer arrived from a late outswinging corner. Marcus Tavernier and Ryan Christie failed to deal with the delivery, leaving Tarkowski free to finish from close range and rescue a point for Everton.
