D’Andre Swift ran for three touchdowns as Chicago improved to 6-2 with a win in Seattle. New arrival Jeffery Simmons helped hold the Seahawks to one third-down conversion.

Chicago beat Seattle 34-17 on Monday night, with D’Andre Swift scoring three rushing touchdowns and Jeffery Simmons making an immediate contribution to the Bears’ defense. According to The Guardian’s game report, Caleb Williams passed for 247 yards as Chicago improved to 6-2. Seattle fell to 4-4 after its third defeat in four games.

Watch the highlights:

Williams completed 71% of his passes, avoided turnovers and was sacked once. He opened Chicago’s scoring with a one-yard touchdown pass to Luther Burden III at the end of a 17-play possession. The Bears added two field goals before halftime, then extended their advantage to 20-9 in the third quarter when Swift finished another touchdown drive with a one-yard run.

Simmons, acquired from Tennessee the previous week in a trade package that included two first-round picks, registered a sack on Seattle’s opening drive. He also had another tackle for loss, six tackles overall and a pass defended. Chicago limited the Seahawks to 252 total yards and one successful third-down attempt out of 11, restricting the home side’s ability to sustain possessions.

Seattle found a way back through Sam Darnold’s touchdown passes. He connected with Jaxon Smith-Njigba for a 43-yard score with 30 seconds remaining in the first half. After Jason Myers had a 33-yard field-goal attempt blocked early in the fourth quarter, DeMarcus Lawrence forced a Colston Loveland fumble. That turnover led to Darnold’s seven-yard touchdown pass to Cooper Kupp, with a successful two-point conversion cutting Chicago’s lead to 20-17.

The Bears responded with another touchdown drive before Darnold threw a fourth-quarter interception. Swift’s third rushing touchdown followed, putting Chicago ahead 34-17 with 4:41 remaining. Swift finished with 69 yards on 27 carries, while Loveland and Burden each caught seven passes. Darnold completed 17 of 34 attempts for 188 yards and two touchdowns; Seattle managed 81 rushing yards.

For the reigning champion Seahawks, the margin also ended a run of 30 regular-season and playoff games without a defeat by more than four points. The Guardian reported that it was the fourth-longest such streak in the Super Bowl era. Seattle had entered the contest with a 32-13 record on Monday Night Football.
