D'Andre Swift scored three second-half touchdowns as the Chicago Bears beat the Seattle Seahawks 34-17 on Monday night, closing an NFL Week 8 in which running backs delivered several decisive performances. The Bears' official game report detailed how they responded after Seattle reduced a 20-9 deficit to 20-17 in the fourth quarter. Chicago scored the final 14 points, with Swift finishing on 69 rushing yards from 27 carries. Caleb Williams completed 24 of 34 passes for 247 yards and a touchdown against the defending Super Bowl champions.
Chicago also received an immediate contribution from Jeffery Simmons in his Bears debut. The defensive tackle recorded seven tackles and a sack, according to the team's report. Austin Booker blocked a field-goal attempt and later deflected a Sam Darnold pass that James Lynch intercepted, creating the opportunity for Swift's final touchdown and helping end Seattle's comeback bid.
Tampa Bay had produced an even more run-heavy victory on Sunday, beating Atlanta 16-0 in wet conditions at Raymond James Stadium. The Buccaneers' official account confirmed a franchise-record 324 rushing yards, including 170 from Bucky Irving and 140 from Kenneth Gainwell. Baker Mayfield attempted only three passes and completed none, leaving the ground game to carry the offense.
The Buccaneers said they became the first team since Buffalo in 1974 to win without a completed pass. Their defense intercepted Michael Penix Jr. four times, with Alex Anzalone collecting two of those turnovers. Chase McLaughlin supplied the first-half scoring through three field goals, while Irving also scored a touchdown as Tampa Bay shut out its division rival.
Elsewhere, BBC Sport reported that Detroit ended Minnesota's unbeaten start with a 19-15 victory, powered by Jahmyr Gibbs' 153 rushing yards and a touchdown. Denver overturned an 11-point fourth-quarter deficit to beat Kansas City 28-24 and move above the Chiefs in the AFC West. The Broncos sealed that comeback with a defensive stand near their own goal line.
