Swansea beat Blackburn 4-0 as Matos leaves celebrations to players
Swansea bounced back from their 5-0 defeat at QPR with a four-goal win over Blackburn. Vitor Matos praised his players, while Eustaquio faces assessment for a groin problem.

Swansea City responded to their heavy defeat at Queens Park Rangers with a 4-0 home victory over Blackburn Rovers, recording their biggest win of the season. According to BBC Sport Wales, Stephen Eustaquio, Joseph Opoku, Filip Lissah and Ross Stewart scored at the Swansea.com Stadium as Vitor Matos's team returned to winning form.

Watch the highlights:

The result followed a difficult sequence for Swansea, who had lost at home to West Ham United before suffering a 5-0 defeat at QPR the previous weekend. Blackburn presented another test: they arrived in Wales with four victories from their preceding six matches. Swansea nevertheless scored four times without conceding to produce an emphatic response to those successive losses.

Matos chose to leave the post-match celebrations to his players. After acknowledging the home supporters, the head coach went down the tunnel instead of joining the celebrations in front of the East Stand as he usually does. He explained that the decision was intended to give the squad its own moment with the crowd after the disappointment of the previous week.

Speaking to BBC Sport Wales, Matos said he regarded responsibility for defeats as his own, while wanting the players to receive recognition when they won. He also praised the character of his squad and its commitment to the team and club. For the Swansea coach, the response against Blackburn demonstrated the qualities he has been trying to develop within the group.

Swansea are second in the table after leaders Middlesbrough beat Charlton. Their next match is away to Portsmouth on Tuesday, with fitness checks to come before that trip. Eustaquio, one of the scorers against Blackburn, left the field late in the game complaining of a groin problem. Swansea will assess him; the report did not establish whether he would be available at Fratton Park.

Matos also hopes to have Marko Stamenic back for the Portsmouth fixture. The New Zealand international missed the Blackburn match because of a virus, and his return was not confirmed. Those two selection questions remain unresolved after a victory in which Swansea reversed the previous weekend's result and gave their supporters a four-goal home win.
