Sunderland end losing run but remain bottom after goalless Leeds draw
Sunderland halted a four-match Premier League losing streak with a 0-0 draw against Leeds at the Stadium of Light. James Trafford and Robin Roefs made important saves as the hosts remained bottom.

Sunderland ended a run of four Premier League defeats with a 0-0 draw against Leeds United at the Stadium of Light on Sunday, but the point left them bottom of the table. According to Press Association's match report, Leeds remained seventh after neither side found a way through despite opportunities in both halves.

Watch the highlights:

Daniel Farke changed three players in the Leeds starting side. The club's team announcement confirmed that Jaka Bijol came into defence, while Harry Wilson and Brenden Aaronson replaced Anton Stach and Noah Okafor in support of Dominic Calvert-Lewin. Stach and Okafor were both available on the bench, giving the visitors attacking options for the second half.

James Trafford twice prevented Brian Brobbey from putting Sunderland ahead before the interval. The Yorkshire Evening Post reported that the goalkeeper first pushed away a low effort after Enzo Le Fee supplied the striker. Brobbey later broke through following a defensive mix-up, only for Trafford to come off his line and block with his legs. Strong winds accompanied a first half that ended without a goal.

Sunderland then had to reorganise their defence shortly after the restart. Press Association reported that Nordi Mukiele was caught around the throat by team-mate Luke O'Nien and could not continue. Omar Alderete replaced him seven minutes into the second half and was quickly involved, clearing a dangerous delivery as Leeds tried to create an opening.

Nilson Angulo tested Trafford with two efforts after the break, while Robin Roefs held a Tarik Muharemovic header at the other end, according to Press Association. Both teams also needed interventions from their defenders: Noah Sadiki cut out a Jayden Bogle delivery, and Bijol blocked substitute Chemsdine Talbi's attempt when Sunderland threatened to break through.

The Yorkshire Evening Post reported that Farke introduced Stach and Okafor midway through the half, with Sean Longstaff arriving late. Roefs stopped Ao Tanaka's shot before Leeds threatened again in added time. Longstaff forced a low save from the Sunderland goalkeeper and then had another effort cleared near the goal line. Those late chances went unconverted, leaving both teams with a point.
