Stormers beat Ulster 33-7 to leave visitors winless after five URC games
The Stormers recovered from conceding the opening try to score five of their own in Cape Town. Ulster remain without a United Rugby Championship win after three defeats and two draws.

The Stormers defeated Ulster 33-7 in Cape Town, scoring five tries to secure their fourth victory in five United Rugby Championship matches. According to BBC Sport's match report, the result leaves Richie Murphy's Ulster side still seeking a first league win after an opening sequence of three defeats and two draws.

Watch the highlights:

Ulster arrived for the second match of their South African tour after losing to the Bulls in Pretoria. They were also without their Ireland contingent, who had returned ahead of November's Nations Championship fixtures. Despite those absences, the visitors took the lead through David McCann, with Murphy adding the conversion to put them seven points ahead.

McCann had helped launch that attack by reacting to a Stormers knock-on. Matthew Devine subsequently had a try disallowed following a television review, but an earlier offside gave Ulster another opportunity, which McCann finished. Cormac Izuchukwu then knocked on near the line as Ulster missed a chance to extend their advantage. Four successive penalties against the visitors followed, with Keynan Knox shown a yellow card after the last.

The Stormers turned that pressure into a half-time lead. JD Schickerling scored their first try and Ahmed converted, before Paul de Villiers charged down Murphy's attempted clearance and touched down. That left the hosts 12-7 ahead at the interval. Ulster began the second half on the attack, but Evan Roos intercepted a blind pass from Devine and ran away to score, with the conversion further widening the gap.

Handling mistakes continued to affect both teams, but the Stormers secured their bonus point when captain Ruhan Nel collected Ahmed's crossfield kick and scored. Ulster had another opportunity through Izuchukwu, only for him to be held up over the line. Ahmed then supplied the home side's fifth try and converted it, completing a return of one try and four successful conversions.

For Ulster, McCann's early score remained their only try as the opening block of league fixtures ended without a victory. Their next opportunity to change that record comes away to Cardiff on 5 December, BBC Sport reported. The Stormers, meanwhile, finished the contest with a bonus-point win despite an uneven performance marked by repeated errors.
