Sophia Dunkley Century Seals England's 3-0 Ireland Sweep

BBC Sport reported that Sophia Dunkley's 119 powered England to a 114-run victory over Ireland in the third one-day international at New Road, Worcester. The result completed a 3-0 series sweep for the hosts and brought England's international summer to a successful close.

Dunkley scored her runs from 119 balls and provided the foundation for England's total of 291 in 48.5 overs. She shared an opening stand of 73 with Maia Bouchier, who made 39, before Jodi Grewcock contributed 35 and Dani Gibson recorded an ODI-best 41. Dunkley's innings was her second century in international cricket.

England had been positioned for a total above 300 at 260-4, but Ireland recovered late in the innings. The home side lost its final six wickets for 31 runs and was bowled out with seven deliveries unused. Leg-spinner Cara Murray led Ireland's bowling effort with figures of 4-56.

Ireland's chase never developed enough momentum to threaten the target. Amy Hunter top-scored with 39 from 58 balls, but the visitors were dismissed for 177 in 44.2 overs. Fast bowler Lauren Filer took 3-27, while off-spinner Mady Villiers also claimed three wickets as England completed another decisive win.

The century completed a productive series for Dunkley, who had scored 73 in the opening match at Leicester. Bouchier also registered a century during the series, giving England two productive options at the top of the order following Tammy Beaumont's retirement earlier in the year. England used the Ireland matches to give opportunities to players including Grewcock and Tilly Corteen-Coleman while several established internationals were rested.

According to the BBC, England's next confirmed matches are at the Champions Trophy in February. A multi-format series against West Indies in the autumn and three ODIs against Sri Lanka are also listed on the schedule, although dates had not been released at the time of the report. The Ireland sweep therefore ends the current international summer with a settled opening partnership among the clearest outcomes.
