Schade scores twice as Brentford hold Bournemouth to 2-2 draw
Kevin Schade scored both Brentford goals in a 2-2 draw at Bournemouth. Justin Kluivert and Marcus Tavernier put the hosts ahead before Schade equalised.

Kevin Schade scored twice as Brentford drew 2-2 at Bournemouth in the Premier League on Saturday, September 12. Justin Kluivert and Marcus Tavernier scored for the hosts at the Vitality Stadium, where all four goals came between the 34th and 56th minutes, according to Sofascore's match record.

Watch the highlights:

Schade opened the scoring in the 34th minute, heading in from Yehor Yarmoliuk's delivery. Bournemouth needed only four minutes to respond through Kluivert, taking the teams into half-time at 1-1. AS reported that Kluivert worked his way through three opponents for the equaliser, cancelling out an advantage Brentford had held only briefly.

Tavernier completed the turnaround seven minutes after the restart. Evanilson supplied the layoff for the midfielder to finish, but Bournemouth's lead lasted no longer than Brentford's earlier one. Schade made it 2-2 in the 56th minute after a misplaced pass from goalkeeper Djordje Petrovic, lifting the ball over him, according to AS's account.

Sofascore's report described Bournemouth as having more possession and producing more attempts and better chances, while Brentford made their opportunities count. It also recorded both teams using a 4-2-3-1 formation. The contrast between Bournemouth's attacking output and Brentford's finishing left the hosts without the victory their spell in front had offered. The Guardian reported that Bournemouth remained winless in the league and Brentford stayed unbeaten.

Both managers made changes after the equaliser. Brentford introduced Dango Ouattara, El Hadji Malick Diouf and Mikkel Damsgaard in the 60th minute, replacing Jaidon Anthony, Keane Lewis-Potter and Yarmoliuk. Bournemouth sent on Ryan Christie for Kluivert six minutes later. Michael Kayode subsequently replaced Aaron Hickey for the visitors, with the score still level.

Bournemouth made further substitutions late on, bringing on Lewis Cook and Ben Doak in the 82nd minute before David Brooks replaced Tavernier a minute later. None of those changes produced another goal. Schade's second therefore remained the final scoring contribution, securing Brentford a point after Bournemouth had recovered from conceding first to take the lead.
