Sai Kishore's Five-Wicket Haul Seals Gloucestershire Win Over Derbyshire

Sai Kishore claimed five wickets as Gloucestershire completed a 213-run County Championship victory over Derbyshire in Bristol on Saturday. BBC Sport reported that the India spinner returned figures of 5-20 from 18 overs, leading a final-session collapse that saw Derbyshire dismissed for 105 while chasing 319.

Gloucestershire had resumed their second innings on 149-3 and built a commanding position through Miles Hammond and James Bracey. Hammond made 118 and Bracey finished unbeaten on 104, with their fourth-wicket partnership worth 165. The hosts declared on 359-5 after adding 210 runs during the day.

Derbyshire had opportunities to disrupt that stand but could not take them. Shoaib Bashir dropped Bracey from his own bowling when the batter was on five, while Matt Montgomery failed to hold a return chance offered by Hammond on 77. Hammond reached his third first-class century of the season from 182 balls before Martin Andersson dismissed him.

Bracey then completed his fifth hundred of the season from 143 deliveries, striking seven fours and two sixes. According to BBC Sport, he became Gloucestershire's first player to score two centuries in a first-class match since Alex Gidman in 2007, and the county's first wicketkeeper to achieve the feat since Harry Smith in 1919.

Derbyshire attempted to survive rather than pursue the target, but Gloucestershire opened with spin from both ends. Kishore trapped Harry Came lbw and bowled Montgomery with successive deliveries in the first over after tea, then removed Wayne Madsen. He completed his five-wicket haul by bowling Aneurin Donald and Brooke Guest within three deliveries, leaving Derbyshire 41-6.

Ed Middleton took 2-17 and Ollie Price collected 3-59, meaning spin accounted for all 10 second-innings wickets. Andersson offered the most resistance with 35 before Middleton dismissed him. Price finished with match figures of 9-104, and Gloucestershire collected 19 points while ending a run of six consecutive defeats. Both of their victories this season have come against Derbyshire, who took four points from the match.
