Sadiki scores stoppage-time winner as Sunderland recover to beat Torreense
Sunderland came from behind to win 2-1 in Portugal, with Jules Ahoka equalising before Noah Sadiki secured a second Europa League victory.

Noah Sadiki scored in the third minute of stoppage time as Sunderland overturned a half-time deficit to beat Torreense 2-1 in the Europa League on Thursday, October 15. Sky Sports reported that the victory gave Regis Le Bris' side two wins from two matches, on their first European away appearance in 53 years.

Watch the highlights:

Torreense went ahead in the 37th minute through centre-back Volnei Feltes, who carried possession forward before curling a shot into the top corner. TNT Sports reported that Sunderland had earlier been denied an opening goal when Timur Tutierov's header was disallowed for a foul by Omar Alderete. The visitors therefore reached the interval needing to recover against the Portuguese second-tier club.

Le Bris had made seven changes to his starting side, according to Sky Sports, and turned to his bench during the second half. Enzo Le Fee, Granit Xhaka, Reinildo and Nordi Mukiele came on. Mukiele then supplied the cross for Jules Ahoka to head Sunderland level in the 67th minute, putting the visitors back into contention for all three points.

Ahoka had another opportunity soon afterwards but shot straight at goalkeeper Lucas Paes, TNT Sports reported. A later penalty decision also went against Sunderland after a video review. Tutierov was judged to have been onside, but referee Enea Jorgji reviewed the challenge at the monitor and reversed his initial decision to award a spot-kick.

The decisive move came in added time when Xhaka directed the ball towards Sadiki, who finished on the half-volley. TNT Sports recorded the winner in the 93rd minute. The broadcaster also reported that Sunderland's next Europa League match is away to Lech Poznan, while Torreense travel to Ferencvaros in the following round of the competition.

Torreense had earned their European place by defeating Sporting in last season's Portuguese Cup final and had opened their campaign with a 2-1 win at Lillestrom, Sky Sports reported. Sunderland's comeback prevented them from adding another victory, while Sadiki's first goal for the English club completed the visitors' recovery.
