Ronaldinho Unveiled at Ravenna as Player and Shareholder
Ronaldinho has completed his unveiling at Serie C club Ravenna, where he is set to combine a shareholder role with a possible return to the pitch. The 46-year-old will not feature in Monday's league opener, with any playing involvement still to be decided.

Ronaldinho has been formally unveiled by Serie C club Ravenna, two months after the Italian side announced the former Brazil international's surprise signing. The Guardian reported that the 46-year-old arrived in Italy on Thursday, underwent a medical and later appeared before supporters at a squad presentation in Marina di Ravenna.

Watch the highlights:

The move combines sporting and corporate roles. Ravenna president Ignazio Cipriani confirmed that Ronaldinho is becoming a shareholder in the club, while the former Barcelona and AC Milan player could also appear on the field. No timetable for his playing debut has been set, and the decision on whether he features will rest with the club president and head coach Andrea Mandorlini.

Ronaldinho last played an official match in 2015, when he represented Fluminense in Brazil. At his presentation, he said friendship and passion had drawn him back to Italy. He described his aims as helping the team, lifting his new teammates and contributing to a successful season, while acknowledging that a goal would make the experience more memorable if he is selected to play.

Cipriani said the deal was intended to do more than generate publicity and international attention. According to The Guardian, Ravenna's ownership sees Ronaldinho's involvement as a way to build fresh enthusiasm around the club. The president has also spoken of an ambition to move quickly toward Serie B, with the top division a longer-term target.

There has already been a clear response from supporters. The Guardian reported that Ravenna have sold more than 2,700 season tickets ahead of their Serie C campaign. Ronaldinho received the No. 10 shirt from Mandorlini during Thursday's events, but Cipriani confirmed that he will not take part in the team's opening league match away in Reggio Emilia on Monday.

The unveiling turns an announcement that initially drew widespread disbelief into a confirmed new chapter for one of football's most recognizable former stars. For now, Ronaldinho's shareholder status is settled, while the scale and timing of any competitive playing role remain uncertain. Ravenna begin their season with increased attention, but without their new No. 10 on the field in the opener.
