PSG Reject Manchester City Offers for Jennifer Echegini
Paris Saint-Germain have rejected several Manchester City offers for Nigeria midfielder Jennifer Echegini, according to BBC Sport. PSG reportedly consider the 25-year-old a key player and do not want to sell with one year left on her contract.

Manchester City have had several offers for Jennifer Echegini rejected by Paris Saint-Germain, BBC Sport reported on Wednesday. The French club regard the 25-year-old midfielder as a key player, and sources at PSG told the BBC they are unwilling to sell while she has one year remaining on her contract. The report did not disclose the value or structure of City's offers.

Echegini has spent two years at PSG after joining the club following one season with Juventus. The Nigeria international spent most of her youth career in England before establishing her senior career abroad. The BBC report did not say that PSG had entered negotiations over a sale or that Echegini had agreed personal terms with City, leaving the proposed move unresolved at the time of publication.

Her international record includes a decisive contribution to Nigeria's latest Women's Africa Cup of Nations triumph. Echegini scored the winning goal against Morocco in last year's final as Nigeria secured a record-extending 10th continental title. That achievement is the most recent major tournament success cited in the BBC's report on City's pursuit.

The timing gives City little room to complete a deal if PSG's position changes. The club have until Thursday's transfer deadline to add players before the Women's Super League season begins this weekend. BBC Sport also reported earlier this week that Vivianne Miedema, who operates in midfield and attack for City, will miss the beginning of the season because of a knee injury. No return date was provided in the report.

PSG, meanwhile, are preparing to face Eintracht Frankfurt in a Women's Champions League third-round qualifying tie on Wednesday evening. Echegini remains under contract with the French side, and the club's reported refusal to sell means Manchester City would need a change in PSG's stance before the English deadline.

The BBC also reported movement involving another PSG player, saying Arsenal have agreed terms to sign France defender Elisa de Almeida. Sources in France suggested that transfer could be worth about £550,000, with De Almeida expected to join Arsenal before Thursday's deadline. She was understood to be available for PSG's match against Frankfurt before travelling to London to complete the proposed move.
