Clàudia Pina scored four first-half goals as Barcelona beat Real Madrid 7-0 at Spotify Camp Nou on Sunday, October 4, in the teams' first Liga F meeting of the season. Caroline Graham Hansen, Ewa Pajor and Sydney Schertenleib also scored in a match that Barcelona led 5-0 at the interval.
Watch the highlights:
The occasion drew 40,533 spectators, an attendance Liga F described in its official report as a record for the competition. The league named Pina player of the match after a performance that settled the contest before half-time. According to Barcelona's account, she became the club's first player to score four goals against a side competing as Real Madrid.
Pina opened the scoring in the fourth minute after receiving Graham Hansen's pass and working her way into a shooting position. Her second came in the 28th minute when she converted the loose ball following a blocked Pajor effort. A combination with Patri Guijarro then brought her third, before Graham Hansen added Barcelona's fourth in the 33rd minute.
Madrid's own match report identified a Schröder attempt saved by Cata Coll in the 34th minute as the visitors' best opportunity. Athenea also created room inside the penalty area but failed to find the target. Pina subsequently combined with Pajor to score again before the break, leaving Madrid five goals behind after a half in which Barcelona had repeatedly broken through their defence.
Pajor increased the lead in the 55th minute, finishing a move involving Guijarro and Graham Hansen. Barcelona later brought on Aitana Bonmatí and Kerolin, while Madrid introduced Irune Dorado and Angeldahl. Liga F's account noted further attempts by Linda Caicedo and Sara Däbritz as Madrid sought a response, but neither produced a goal for the visitors.
Schertenleib completed the scoring in the 88th minute with a long-range finish, making her the fourth Barcelona player on the scoresheet. Madrid now enter the international break after the Matchday 6 defeat. The club confirmed that their next league fixture will be at home against Espanyol on October 17, with kick-off scheduled for 8:30 pm CEST.
