Pedro Porro cleared to return as Tottenham manage midfield fitness doubts
Tottenham have confirmed Pedro Porro is available again after a hamstring injury. James Maddison and Dejan Kulusevski remain subject to careful management following disrupted training.

Pedro Porro is available again for Tottenham after a hamstring injury, the club confirmed on Friday, October 23. Roberto De Zerbi also cleared Andy Robertson to return to selection following his substitution against Coventry City, while reporting that Omar Marmoush and Dominic Solanke were fit. The update brings back an option at full-back while several teammates remain unavailable.

Watch the highlights:

Tottenham's announcement said Porro had made four appearances after returning late to pre-season before suffering the hamstring problem against Aston Villa in September. Robertson's availability follows his withdrawal during Monday's 3-1 victory over Coventry. De Zerbi delivered the latest assessment at his Friday news conference at Hotspur Way, with the club distinguishing those available from its continuing absentees.

James Maddison's position was less certain. Hayters TV reported that the midfielder had missed the first three days of team training during the week, leaving De Zerbi unsure whether he would be ready to play. The coach identified Mathys Tel, Marmoush and Conor Gallagher as alternative options rather than confirming Maddison's involvement or providing a new recovery timetable.

Dejan Kulusevski was also being managed carefully after returning to action against Coventry following around a year and a half out. According to Hayters TV's account of the news conference, De Zerbi said the midfielder had worked well but trained individually on the first day. His return to match action had therefore not yet meant an uninterrupted week of group training.

Lucas Bergvall, Savio and Destiny Udogie remain sidelined, Tottenham confirmed. Rodrigo Bentancur is separately unavailable through suspension, serving the second match of his ban following his dismissal at Old Trafford. Discussing Udogie, De Zerbi said he was working with medical staff on the best approach and identified Robertson, Ben Davies and Micky van de Ven as alternatives in that area.

De Zerbi stressed that he did not want to expose players to unnecessary risk, Hayters TV reported. He framed that caution as a response to injuries across football, rather than a problem confined to Tottenham, and said his aim was to avoid losing players for multiple matches.
