Paddy Pimblett Dismisses Mateusz Gamrot After UFC 327 Victory
Following Mateusz Gamrot submission win at UFC 327, Paddy Pimblett had scathing words about the Polish fighter ranking and placement on the card.

Paddy Pimblett does not appear particularly impressed with Mateusz Gamrot position in the lightweight division, even after Gamrot turned in a highlight-reel performance at UFC 327.

Gamrot submitted Esteban Ribovics with a slick grappling sequence during Saturday preliminary card action, improving his UFC record to 9-4. The Polish lightweight called out several names afterward, including Pimblett, Diego Lopes, Benoit Saint Denis, and Arman Tsarukyan.

Pimblett, however, seemed genuinely surprised Gamrot was even on the card during a UFC 327 watch-along stream on his YouTube channel. His reaction was less than complimentary.

No one gives a f about him, Pimblett said. You know what mad? He ranked number 8 and he fighting on the fxxxing prelims. Is this Ribovics ranked? This is Gamrot second fight in three fights that he fighting someone unranked and he in the top 10. Generally just shows that nobody cares about him.

The comment drew attention given Gamrot current ranking as the number eight lightweight in the world, yet finding himself on the preliminary portion of a UFC card. Pimblett himself sits at number six in the division, having built a 7-1 UFC record with his brash personality and exciting fighting style.

Gamrot entered UFC 327 having lost two of his last four fights, including a setback against Dan Hooker last November. His win over Ribovics marked his third victory in four fights, a respectable run that apparently has not moved the needle with fans or, apparently, with Pimblett.

As for potential matchups, Pimblett suggested Gamrot should focus on avenging his loss to Hooker rather than calling out higher-ranked opponents. If you are Gamrot, you probably want to get that win back off Hooker, Pimblett said. If I am Gamrot, I am calling Arman out because he beaten him.

Whether this creates bad blood between the two remains to be seen. UFC matchmakers have shown a willingness to book polarizing personalities against each other, and Pimblett comments give them plenty of material to work with if they decide to bring Gamrot onto a future card with the Liverpool native.
