Ospreys beat Dragons 31-14 on St Helen's return
Ospreys scored five tries to beat Dragons 31-14 on their return to St Helen's. Reuben Morgan-Williams crossed twice as the hosts secured a United Rugby Championship bonus-point win.

Ospreys marked their return to St Helen's with a 31-14 victory over Dragons in the United Rugby Championship, scoring five tries to claim a bonus point. According to BBC Sport's match report, 5,592 supporters attended despite torrential rain, as Mark Jones' side made a winning return to the Swansea venue after an opening stretch of fixtures away from the ground.

Watch the highlights:

Reuben Morgan-Williams scored twice in the first half, with captain Sam Parry also crossing to put Ospreys in control. Dragons responded through Rio Dyer with the final play before the interval, leaving the home side 19-7 ahead. That late score reduced the deficit, but the visitors still faced a 12-point gap when the teams reached half-time in the difficult conditions.

Ospreys added to their advantage after the restart through their driving line-out. The hosts earned a penalty try and Ross Moriarty scored as they completed their five-try haul. Anzelo Tuitavuki supplied Dragons' second try, while Tinus de Beer converted both of the visitors' scores. Edwards added two conversions for Ospreys, who finished with a 17-point winning margin.

Discipline also disrupted Dragons' evening. Rhodri Williams, de Beer and Aneurin Owen were all sent to the sin-bin, with their yellow cards recorded in the 41st, 54th and 67th minutes respectively. The visitors therefore had to negotiate three separate periods with a player temporarily dismissed during a half in which Ospreys added the two scores that secured their victory.

There were personnel concerns for Dragons and Wales as well. BBC Sport reported that Dyer did not return for the second half, while lock Ben Carter left with a head injury. The report did not establish why Dyer stayed off or provide a recovery timetable for either player, leaving their availability ahead of the Nations Championship uncertain.

The occasion also marked another stage in Ospreys' changes of home ground. They left the Swansea.com Stadium in 2025 and played at Bridgend's Brewery Field during 2025-26. This was their first match at St Helen's since a game against Benetton was moved there during the Covid pandemic in 2020. Their opening block this season had taken them to Durban, Johannesburg, Tbilisi and Newport before this homecoming.
