Opta Predictions Favor Rangers to Beat Hearts as Celtic Edge Towards Scottish Title
Statistical analysis gives Rangers the edge in Edinburgh clash while Celtic remain frontrunners for league glory with just weeks remaining in the season.

Opta’s latest predictions have Rangers positioned as favorites to defeat Hearts at Tynecastle Park this midweek, with the data-driven analysis suggesting the Gers can capitalize on their superior recent form to secure three crucial points in the Scottish Premiership title race.

Watch the highlights:

The Ibrox side have been in impressive form since the turn of the year, winning seven of their last ten league matches and demonstrating a clinical edge in front of goal that has eluded them in previous campaigns. Midfielder Nicolas Raskin has been instrumental in their resurgence, contributing four goals and three assists during this purple patch.

Hearts, meanwhile, find themselves in a precarious position, sitting just four points above the relegation play-off spot. The Gorgie side have won only two of their last eight home matches, and their defensive record has been a significant concern, conceding an average of 1.6 goals per game at Tynecastle this season.

"Rangers have shown the quality to perform in high-pressure situations," said an Opta spokesperson. "Our models account for form, head-to-head records, and home advantage, all of which point toward a positive result for the visitors."

While Rangers are expected to take maximum points, Celtic remain the clear favorites for the league title. The Hoops hold a three-point advantage at the summit with a game in hand, and their remaining fixtures include several encounters against teams in the bottom half of the table.

Brendan Rodgers' side have been particularly formidable at Celtic Park, losing just once in 17 home league matches this season. The Bhoys have scored 42 goals at home, averaging 2.47 per match, a rate that would test even the best defenses in European football.

The title race is expected to conclude in mid-May, with Celtic firm favorites to clinch their fourth consecutive Scottish Premiership crown and 51st league title overall.
