Olid, Cuthbert and Weir shortlisted for Scottish Women's Football Awards
Eva Olid, Erin Cuthbert and Caroline Weir have been shortlisted for the 2026 Scottish Women's Football Awards, with winners to be announced at Hampden Park on 28 November. BBC Sport reported the nominations on Monday, with coaching and playing honours spanning Scotland's domestic leagues and internationals playing abroad.
Olid, now Manchester United's head coach, is nominated after guiding Heart of Midlothian to their first Scottish Women's Premier League title last season. Her coaching rivals are Rangers' Leanne Crichton, Hibernian's Joelle Murray and Spartans' Jack Beesley. Crichton's team finished runners-up, while Beesley led Spartans back to the top division.
Glasgow City's Nicole Kozlova is among four forwards competing for the SWPL 1 player award. Celtic's Saoirse Noonan, Rangers' Katie Wilkinson and Georgia Timms, who moved from Hearts to Ipswich Town during the summer, complete that shortlist. Olid and Kozlova previously collected PFA Scotland's manager and player honours respectively in May.
Chelsea midfielder Cuthbert and Weir, who joined Lyon from Real Madrid during the close season, are nominated for the international player award. Brann winger Lauren Davidson and Kathleen McGovern, who left Hibernian for Newcastle United, are the other contenders in that category, according to BBC Sport.
Scottish Women's Football's full announcement also confirmed a new women's walking football team award. Giffnock SC, Jeanfield Swifts, Midlothian Ladies and Oriam Ladies are the inaugural nominees. The category recognises clubs' contribution to an inclusive environment and their activities both on the pitch and within the wider community, broadening the awards beyond the conventional competitive leagues.
The volunteer shortlist includes Grampian Ladies manager Lauren Boylan, Edinburgh Caledonia secretary Kim Dallas, Rossvale organiser Sharon Hill and Fort William secretary Greg Riddle. Elsewhere, Championship winners Renfrew Ladies are represented by former midfielder Nicole Haggerty, who faces Anna Murray, Khya McGurk and Kyla Thomson for that division's player award.
An all-women judging panel will select the winners. The ceremony will also feature the Scottish FA women's referee award for a second year, alongside a special women's football induction into the Scottish Football Hall of Fame to recognise a contribution to the game's development in Scotland.
