Okafor winner ends Leeds winless run against Tottenham
Noah Okafor scored in the 79th minute as Leeds United beat Tottenham Hotspur 1-0 at Elland Road on Saturday, ending a run of five Premier League games without a victory. According to the Guardian's match report, fellow substitute Harry Wilson supplied the decisive pass after Daniel Farke made another change to Leeds' attacking setup.

The result also ended Tottenham's attempt to record four consecutive Premier League victories for the first time in three years. Leeds had taken eight points from their opening four league matches before their winless sequence. Saturday's success gave Farke's side a victory to take into the international break, with his changes in formation and personnel central to the outcome.
Leeds began with a 3-5-2 formation and reached the interval without either side scoring. Farke then moved to a back four, using a 4-2-3-1 before later switching to 3-4-3. The Guardian reported that the adjustments helped Leeds put Tottenham under sustained pressure after the restart, with Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Ao Tanaka both having opportunities to break the deadlock.
A challenge shortly before half-time provided the game's main refereeing controversy. Jayden Bogle caught Mathys Tel on the Achilles, and the Tottenham forward was unable to continue. Following a lengthy video assistant referee review, the incident was not judged to constitute serious foul play and Bogle stayed on the pitch. The Guardian reported that Tottenham would submit a formal complaint to Pro Ref over the decision. The report did not establish how long Tel might be unavailable.
Tottenham manager Roberto De Zerbi made three substitutions around the hour as he tried to change the direction of the match. Conor Gallagher subsequently shot wide, while Sean Longstaff missed another chance for Leeds. Farke later brought on Wilson and Okafor to support Calvert-Lewin, and the pair combined within two minutes of their introduction, with Okafor beating Kinsky for the only goal.
Afterwards, Farke credited his players and emphasised the importance of getting Leeds' tactics right against an in-form opponent. De Zerbi, meanwhile, criticised Tottenham's second-half spirit and hunger, according to the Guardian. Spurs had struggled to seriously trouble James Trafford, and Leeds protected their advantage through the closing stages to secure the win.
