Nottingham Forest Agree £22m Daniel Munoz Deal With Crystal Palace

Nottingham Forest have agreed a deal worth a minimum of £22 million to sign Daniel Munoz from Crystal Palace, according to BBC Sport. The Colombia international has been given permission to undergo a medical, meaning the proposed transfer has moved forward but has not yet been described as complete.

Munoz, 30, joined Palace from Belgian club Genk in 2024. He has since made 109 appearances for the London side and scored 11 goals. BBC Sport reported that the full-back has just under two years remaining on his current Palace contract and that the club is prepared to sell him this summer.

The move would reunite Munoz with Nottingham Forest manager Oliver Glasner. The pair previously worked together at Selhurst Park when Glasner was in charge of Palace, giving the Forest manager direct experience of the defender before the clubs reached their agreement.

During his time at Palace, Munoz played a significant role in the club's FA Cup and Europa Conference League triumphs under Glasner. Those achievements formed part of a spell in which he became a regular contributor for Palace, with his appearance and goal totals reflecting his involvement since arriving from Genk.

BBC Sport said negotiations had been taking place for several days and accelerated after Palace's 4-1 defeat by Manchester City on Friday. Munoz also featured in Palace's opening 2-0 Premier League loss of the season, so the agreement comes after he had already returned to league action for the club.

Palace have already added Anan Khalaili from Belgian side Royale Union Saint-Gilloise this summer. The Israel international is expected to take Munoz's place in Pierre Sage's team if the Colombia defender completes his move to Forest. For now, the confirmed position is that the clubs have agreed the minimum £22 million deal and Munoz has clearance to proceed with his medical.
