Nordqvist on Team Europe: First Player and Caddie Clothes Fitting Delivers Solheim Cup Excitement
As the Solheim Cup approaches, Team Europe has taken its first steps in preparations with players and caddies gathering for an initial clothes fitting session that sets the stage for what promises to be an electrifying contest against the United States.
Swedish veteran Anna Nordqvist, a three-time Solheim Cup participant, shared insights from the fitting session that brought together the European squad for the first time ahead of the biennial competition. The session, held at a European Tour venue, allowed players to be measured and fitted for the distinctive Team Europe apparel they will wear during the event.
"There's always such a special energy when we come together as a team," Nordqvist said. "Even something as simple as a clothes fitting becomes an important moment to connect with your teammates and build that camaraderie we'll need when we're under pressure at the Solheim Cup."
The 2026 Solheim Cup is scheduled to take place at a prestigious American venue, with the home team favorites looking to retain the trophy they won in dramatic fashion in 2024. Captain Suzann Pettersen will lead a squad featuring a blend of experienced veterans and exciting young talent from across the Ladies European Tour.
Nordqvist, who boasts 14 professional wins including two major championships, emphasized the importance of the team dynamic: "The Solheim Cup is unlike any other tournament. The atmosphere, the passion, the pride we feel representing Europe - it's what makes this event so special. Every player on that team sheet will be ready to give everything."
The clothes fitting tradition represents one of many team-building activities European players will undertake before traveling to the United States for theMatches, scheduled for September.
