Nick Woltemade Joins Juventus on Season-Long Loan From Newcastle

Juventus have completed the loan signing of Nick Woltemade from Newcastle United, adding the Germany forward to Luciano Spalletti's squad for the 2026-27 season. Both clubs confirmed that the temporary move runs until June 30, 2027.

The switch comes one year after Woltemade moved to Newcastle from Stuttgart as the English club's record signing. Juventus said the 24-year-old made 53 appearances for Newcastle, scoring 11 goals and providing six assists during his season at St James' Park. Newcastle's player profile credits him with 11 goal contributions across 33 Premier League appearances.

Woltemade had arrived in England after a breakout campaign with Stuttgart. Juventus' announcement noted that he scored 18 goals in 36 appearances for the German club and helped Stuttgart win the German Cup. His earlier career included development at Werder Bremen, a first-team debut in 2020 and a loan spell with SV Elversberg.

The Turin club described Woltemade as a reinforcement for Spalletti's attacking options. At 1.98 metres tall, he offers a distinct central-forward profile, while his confirmed output in Germany and England gives Juventus an experienced option despite his age. The clubs did not announce an option or obligation to make the transfer permanent in their public statements.

Newcastle confirmed Woltemade's departure during a busy end to a major summer overhaul. The club also announced the signing of 21-year-old Belgium international Matias Fernandez-Pardo from Lille for an undisclosed fee on a long-term contract. Newcastle said Fernandez-Pardo, who can operate centrally or in wide areas, was their eighth first-team arrival of the window and will wear number 20.

Fernandez-Pardo helped Lille finish third in Ligue 1 last season and qualify for the Champions League, according to Newcastle's announcement. He also appeared in all three of Belgium's group matches at the 2026 World Cup. Woltemade now begins his first spell in Italian football as Juventus prepare to integrate him into their forward line for the campaign ahead.
