Minshew leads Cardinals comeback in 33-30 overtime win over Cowboys
Gardner Minshew replaced Jacoby Brissett and helped Arizona rally past Dallas. Chad Ryland settled the game in overtime after missing a late extra point.

Gardner Minshew came off the bench to help the Arizona Cardinals overturn a 17-3 deficit and beat the Dallas Cowboys 33-30 in overtime on Sunday. Arizona scored touchdowns on four consecutive possessions before the end of regulation, turning a game that had been slipping away into a comeback victory.

Watch the highlights:

The change at quarterback came with 1:35 remaining in the third quarter, according to SB Nation's Revenge of the Birds. Jacoby Brissett had completed 10 of 23 passes for 119 yards with one interception. Minshew finished 17 of 23 for 188 yards and three touchdowns as Arizona improved to 3-5.

Arizona's recovery still required overtime because Chad Ryland missed an extra point after the touchdown that tied the score. The late miss denied the Cardinals an opportunity to finish the comeback in regulation, but it did not prevent them from completing the turnaround after Minshew's introduction had transformed their offensive production.

The Cowboys' official match report detailed Tyler Allgeier's contribution alongside the replacement quarterback. He rushed for 147 yards on 11 carries, with 143 yards coming after half-time. His 63-yard touchdown run reduced Dallas's lead to 17-10, and he later caught a touchdown pass as Arizona continued to answer the home side's scoring.

Minshew also found tight end Trey McBride for a 14-yard touchdown before Brandon Aubrey's 41-yard field goal left Dallas ahead by six. With just over a minute available, Arizona then covered 80 yards in eight plays. Michael Wilson caught the touchdown pass that brought the teams level, only for Ryland's extra-point attempt to go wide left.

Dallas chose to defend first in overtime and forced an Arizona punt, but the Cowboys also had to punt on their opening possession. Given another chance, the Cardinals moved into field-goal range and Ryland converted from 42 yards, the Cowboys' report confirmed. Dallas finished with five sacks and two takeaways, but those defensive contributions could not protect the lead against Arizona's late surge.
