Mbappé double ends Barcelona's perfect start as Madrid win Clásico
Real Madrid won 2-1 at Barcelona as Kylian Mbappé scored twice, cutting the gap between the rivals to three points.

Kylian Mbappé scored twice as Real Madrid beat Barcelona 2-1 at Spotify Camp Nou on Sunday, October 25, ending the home side's perfect start to the La Liga season. Barcelona's official match report confirmed that the result cut their advantage over Madrid to three points after a contest decided in the closing minutes.

Watch the highlights:

Hansi Flick's team had won all nine of their previous league matches and were seeking a tenth successive victory to start the campaign. A win would have moved them nine points ahead of Madrid. Instead, their first dropped points came against their rivals, despite a second-half recovery that brought them back from a goal down.

According to Real Madrid's official report, Arda Güler had two opportunities before the opening goal, sending one effort off target and seeing another saved by Joan García. The breakthrough arrived in the 41st minute when Yan Diomandé delivered a cross and Gerard Martín's attempted clearance struck Mbappé before going into the net. Madrid carried that lead into half-time.

Barcelona responded after the interval, with Raphinha scoring their equaliser. The home club's account described a stronger second-half performance that put them in contention to turn the match around. The recovery changed the position Madrid had established before the break, but Barcelona could not convert that improvement into a lead and ultimately finished without a point.

Madrid's report highlighted important saves at both ends after the equaliser. García kept out another Güler attempt, while Andriy Lunin denied Martín's header. The visitors eventually found the deciding move through Bellingham, Güler and Camavinga. Camavinga beat Pau Cubarsí and supplied Mbappé, who finished to secure the away victory. Madrid said the double took Mbappé to 100 goals for the club.

For Barcelona, the result ended an unbeaten opening sequence that had produced maximum points from nine league fixtures. For Madrid, the first Clásico of the season delivered three points away from home and reduced the distance between the two clubs. Barcelona remain ahead of their rivals, but their margin is narrower after Mbappé's decisive contribution.
