Maye leads Patriots rout as Packers win and Rodgers passes Manning

Drake Maye accounted for five touchdowns as the New England Patriots beat the Las Vegas Raiders 45-17, while Jordan Love led the Green Bay Packers to a 31-7 victory over the Chicago Bears in NFL week five. According to BBC Sport's Sunday roundup, New England, Green Bay and Detroit all improved to 3-2.

Watch the highlights:

Maye threw for 374 yards and four touchdowns, adding another score on the ground as New England followed its victory over Buffalo with another win. The Patriots put 45 points past a Las Vegas defence that had previously been allowing 21 per game. Maye's performance came after criticism following New England's Super Bowl defeat last season.

Green Bay's win came in the 201st meeting of its rivalry with Chicago. Love passed for 367 yards, with Christian Watson catching touchdown passes of 42 and 53 yards. The Packers held the Bears to seven points as Chicago used Tyson Bagent and Case Keenum at quarterback in the absence of starter Caleb Williams.

Williams was missing with a hamstring injury, according to the BBC. His absence marked a change from the teams' meetings last season, when he led Chicago to two fourth-quarter comeback victories over Green Bay, including one in the play-offs. This time, the Packers finished with a 24-point winning margin.

Detroit also scored 45 points in its win over the Arizona Cardinals. Running back Jahmyr Gibbs contributed 207 yards and two touchdowns as the Lions joined the Patriots and Packers at 3-2. BBC Sport highlighted Gibbs' contribution among the leading individual performances from Sunday's games.

Pittsburgh reached the same record by beating the Indianapolis Colts 34-22. Aaron Rodgers threw three touchdown passes, taking his career total to 582 and moving him above Peyton Manning into third place on the all-time list cited by the BBC. Tom Brady, with 737, and Drew Brees, with 608, remain ahead of him. Rodgers also reached 166 regular-season victories, placing him fifth on that list, as the Steelers secured their third win of the campaign.
