Manchester United Rule Out Bruno Fernandes Sale Amid Galatasaray Interest
Manchester United intend to reject any offer for captain Bruno Fernandes before the transfer deadline, according to BBC Sport. Galatasaray have considered a proposal, but United say no bid has arrived and the midfielder is not for sale.

Manchester United intend to reject any offer for captain Bruno Fernandes before next month's transfer deadline, according to BBC Sport. Galatasaray have been considering whether to pursue the Portugal midfielder, but senior sources at Old Trafford have made clear that the club does not plan to negotiate a sale.

Watch the highlights:

BBC Sport reported that Galatasaray had been preparing a proposal that could have reached a final value of 50 million euros, or £42.7 million. Juventus and AC Milan had also been considering whether to test United's position. However, club sources said no formal bid had been submitted for the 31-year-old at the time of the report, leaving the outside interest at a preliminary stage.

United's stance is notably firmer than it was last summer. When Saudi Pro League club Al-Hilal presented a major offer, the club told Fernandes that the decision over whether to accept was his. Fernandes later said that approach had hurt him. This time, United's message is that their captain is not available at any price.

Fernandes has one year remaining on his current contract, and United hold an option to extend it by another season. A £57 million release clause in the agreement has expired, while no new contract extension has yet been agreed. BBC Sport said the player would prefer to stay, aligning his position with the club's determination to keep him.

Supporters also made their view evident during United's pre-season match against Leeds in Dublin last week, when Fernandes received an enthusiastic reception. The response underlined his standing with the fanbase and the likely reaction if the club appeared willing to let him leave without making every effort to retain him.

His influence was reflected in last season's numbers. Fernandes produced 21 Premier League assists, a competition record, and is the favorite to be named the Professional Footballers' Association Player of the Year for 2025-26 at the awards in Manchester next week. Interest from Galatasaray and the two Italian clubs may remain part of the transfer discussion, but the confirmed position is that no bid has arrived and United intend to reject any approach before the deadline.
