Luis Enrique Extends Paris Saint-Germain Contract Through 2030

Paris Saint-Germain have extended head coach Luis Enrique's contract through 2030, securing the Spaniard to a new three-year term before the previous agreement was due to expire next June. BBC Sport reported that the deal was announced on Friday ahead of PSG's Ligue 1 match against Monaco at the Parc des Princes.

The extension continues a partnership that began when Luis Enrique took charge in July 2023. EFE reported that he has overseen 178 matches and won 12 of the 16 trophies PSG have contested during his tenure, a period that has transformed the club's standing in both French and European football.

The defining achievements have come in the Champions League. PSG won the competition for the first time in 2024-25, beating Inter Milan 5-0 in the final, then retained the trophy the following season after a 1-1 draw with Arsenal and a 4-3 victory on penalties. That made PSG only the second club to successfully defend the title in the Champions League era.

Domestic success has accompanied those European breakthroughs. PSG won Ligue 1, the Coupe de France and the French Super Cup in Luis Enrique's first season. EFE reported that the club added four of the five trophies available to it in 2024-25 and five titles in 2025-26, including another league championship and the Intercontinental Cup.

PSG paired the coach's announcement with contract extensions for five players. Reports from BBC Sport, EFE and L'Equipe named Joao Neves, Fabian Ruiz, Willian Pacho, Lucas Beraldo and Senny Mayulu as the players whose new agreements were presented before the Monaco fixture. The group includes established midfielders as well as young players central to the club's longer-term plans.

Luis Enrique, 56, previously coached Barcelona and the Spain national team before moving to Paris. His new contract gives PSG continuity around the coach who has delivered the club's first two European Cups and reinforced its domestic dominance, while the accompanying player renewals underline an effort to keep the core of the squad together beyond the current season.
