Love throws three touchdowns as Packers hold off Panthers 27-19
Green Bay improved to 5-3 as Jordan Love threw three touchdown passes. Christian Watson returned from a hospital evaluation to finish with 113 receiving yards.

Green Bay beat Carolina 27-19 at Lambeau Field on Thursday, moving to 5-3 after a game in which Christian Watson left for a hospital evaluation and then returned to play. The Panthers dropped to 3-4 despite forcing three turnovers, with their offense unable to turn those opportunities into enough points.

Watch the highlights:

Jordan Love completed 30 of 41 passes for 288 yards and three touchdowns, according to the Panthers' official game recap. Green Bay reached halftime with a 20-10 advantage. Carolina's defense produced two fumble recoveries and an interception, but those takeaways yielded only three points, leaving the visitors chasing the game despite repeatedly getting possession back.

Watson's evening included a chest injury on a 53-yard reception in the second quarter. TheScore reported that he was taken to hospital by ambulance and returned in the same vehicle during the third quarter. Green Bay had listed him as questionable rather than ruling him out. He ultimately finished with eight receptions for 113 yards, the team's highest receiving total.

Carolina also lost cornerback Will Lee III to a hamstring injury on that long reception. He was taken to the locker room on a cart and did not return, the team's recap said. With Jaycee Horn, Mike Jackson and Akayleb Evans already on injured reserve, the Panthers finished with only three healthy cornerbacks. Bryce Young was sacked six times.

The Packers' lead reached 27-10 in the third quarter, but Carolina brought the margin back to eight points. Sports Illustrated's Packers coverage reported that Young found Jalen Coker for a 26-yard touchdown on fourth-and-three, before Isaiah McDuffie broke up the two-point pass. A subsequent Green Bay three-and-out gave the Panthers another opportunity, beginning at their own 45-yard line.

That possession ended with an incomplete pass on fourth-and-five. Watson then helped Green Bay consume more time by catching a seven-yard pass on third-and-two, according to Sports Illustrated. The Packers still had to punt again, but Carolina's final opportunity ended with Dani Dennis-Sutton recording a sack. Green Bay had survived the late challenge after surrendering most of its earlier cushion.
