Liverpool Complete £123m Signing of Bradley Barcola from PSG

Liverpool have completed the signing of France winger Bradley Barcola from Paris Saint-Germain in a £123m deal, according to BBC Sport. The transfer takes the 23-year-old to the Premier League after three seasons in Paris, where he developed into a regular for club and country following his breakthrough at Lyon.

Barcola joined PSG from Lyon in 2023 in a reported £38.5m transfer. He went on to win three consecutive Ligue 1 titles and back-to-back Champions League trophies with the French club. BBC Sport reported that he appeared as a substitute in both European final victories, against Inter Milan in 2025 and Arsenal in 2026.

The winger also established himself with France during that period. He broke into the senior national team in 2024 and scored three times at the 2026 World Cup, where France reached the semi-finals. His combination of speed and agility has earned him the nickname “the grasshopper,” a reference to his slight frame and direct running style.

His path to Liverpool was not straightforward. Barcola lost his place at Lyon after Laurent Blanc replaced Peter Bosz as coach in October 2022 and spent time with the reserve side. He returned to the first team during the second half of that season, scored five goals, and delivered a winner away to eventual champions PSG in April 2023. Five months later, PSG signed him.

Barcola scored 13 goals in all competitions for PSG during the 2025-26 campaign. His record against English opposition included a goal in a 4-2 Champions League win over Manchester City in January 2025, followed by goals in both legs of PSG's last-16 tie against Chelsea the next season. Those performances provided evidence of his ability to produce against Premier League teams before his move to Anfield.

The fee brings major expectations as Barcola joins Liverpool under new head coach Andoni Iraola.
