Liverpool Agree £123m Deal for PSG Winger Bradley Barcola

Liverpool have agreed a £123m deal to sign France winger Bradley Barcola from Paris Saint-Germain, BBC Sport reported on Sunday. The agreement puts the 23-year-old on course for a move to the Premier League, although the report described the deal as agreed rather than the transfer as formally completed.

Barcola would arrive at Anfield after three seasons in Paris. He joined PSG from Lyon in a reported £38.5m transfer in 2023 and has since won three Ligue 1 titles as well as back-to-back Champions League trophies. He appeared as a substitute in PSG’s European final victories over Inter Milan in 2025 and Arsenal in 2026.

The winger scored 13 goals in all competitions for PSG during the 2025-26 campaign, according to the BBC. His experience against English opposition includes a goal in PSG’s 4-2 Champions League win over Manchester City in January 2025. Liverpool will now be preparing to integrate him into the squad led by new head coach Andoni Iraola.

Barcola developed in Lyon’s academy after joining at the age of eight and made his senior debut 11 years later. He scored 11 goals in 17 league matches for Lyon’s under-19 side at age 17, then signed his first professional contract in 2021. His path into the first team was not smooth, with a spell out of favour following Laurent Blanc’s appointment in October 2022.

A possible loan to Swiss club St Gallen was considered in January 2023, according to reporting cited by the BBC, but Barcola remained at Lyon and earned another opportunity. He started most of the club’s remaining matches that season and scored five times before moving to PSG later in the year.

The agreed fee reflects the rapid rise in Barcola’s standing since that uncertain period at Lyon. For Liverpool, the deal represents a major investment in a winger who has already collected domestic and European honours but whom observers quoted by the BBC still regard as capable of further development. Until the clubs announce completion, the move remains an agreed deal rather than a finalized signing.
