Leeds claim six places in 2026 Super League Dream Team

Leeds Rhinos have taken six of the 13 places in the 2026 Super League Dream Team, BBC Sport reported on Sunday. The selections recognise a side that finished second in the regular season, behind League Leaders' Shield winners Wigan Warriors.

Lachie Miller, Maika Sivo, Ash Handley, Brodie Croft, Jake Connor and James McDonnell are the Leeds representatives. Wigan supply winger Zach Eckersley and hooker Brad O'Neill, while Leigh Leopards have centre Umyla Hanley and prop Joe Ofahengaue in the selected side.

Wakefield prop Caleb Hamlin-Uele and Warrington loose forward Ben Currie also make the team. Toulouse's Mathieu Jussaume is selected in the second row, becoming the club's first Dream Team representative after scoring 16 tries. According to the BBC, Connor, Hanley and McDonnell retain their places from the 2025 line-up.

This year's selection followed a revised voting system that gave supporters a direct role for the first time. In its announcement of the process, RL Commercial said the Man of Steel panel would carry half of the overall weighting, with journalists accounting for 30% and the fan vote contributing the remaining 20%.

Supporters were able to choose a team from nominated players in each position through an online selector, with voting running from 28 August to 6 September. The league scheduled the reveal for 13 September and a gathering of the selected players for 14 September, also serving as the official launch of the play-offs.

The individual recognition comes despite Leeds losing their final regular-season match 18-12 at home to Hull FC. Super League's official round-up confirmed that their second-place finish nevertheless secured a bye through the opening play-off round and a place in the semi-finals, leaving them one victory from the Grand Final.

Wigan enter the knockout phase after beating Catalans Dragons 50-12 to secure the Shield. The league reported that the result extended their Super League winning streak to 15 matches. Like Leeds, Wigan have a first-round bye, with both clubs now moving from the regular-season honours into the contest for a Grand Final place.
