Leeds Rhinos Thrash Catalans Dragons to Extend Lead at Super League Summit
Leeds Rhinos delivered a dominant performance to crush Catalans Dragons 38-12 at Headingley, maintaining their position at the top of the Super League table, while Hull FC ran in 50 points at Castleford.

Leeds Rhinos strengthened their grip on top spot in the Betfred Super League with a commanding 38-12 victory over Catalans Dragons at a packed Headingley Stadium on Friday evening. The 2022 champions produced their most complete performance of the season, with halfback Brodie Croft orchestrating the attack with precision. The victory extends Leeds's winning streak to four matches and sends a clear message to their title rivals.

Watch the highlights:

Head coach Rohan Smith praised his side's application: "That was exactly what we needed. The energy from the crowd was incredible, and the lads responded with their best performance of the season. Brodie controlled the game beautifully, and our defense was rock solid."

Man of the match Harry Newman starred with two tries and 140 meters gained, while veteran captain Stevie Ward led from the front with a typically abrasive 38-minute display before being replaced as a precaution. The Rhinos led 18-6 at halftime after tries from Newman, Croft, and Ash Handley, with the visitors' response coming through skipper Benjamin Garcia.

The second half saw Leeds shift through another gear, with Tom Holroyd and Sam Walters crossing for their first tries of the evening. Catalans, who have now lost three consecutive away matches, offered little resistance as the Rhinos' forward pack dominated the collision area. England international Mark Gasnier finished with 18 points from eight goals.

In the evening's other fixture, Hull FC recorded their biggest away win of the season with a stunning 50-22 victory at Castleford Tigers. Carlos Tuavanae scored a hat-trick for the Black and Whites, who move up to sixth place in the table following their fifth win in six games. Castleford remain rooted to the bottom of the standings with just two wins from nine starts.
