LeBron James Leads Lakers to Dramatic Comeback Victory Over Rockets, Extends Series Lead to 3-0
LeBron James delivered a clutch performance in the closing minutes as the Los Angeles Lakers completed a late rally to defeat the Houston Rockets and take a commanding 3-0 series lead in their NBA Playoffs matchup.

LeBron James delivered when it mattered most on Wednesday night, leading the Los Angeles Lakers to a thrilling comeback victory over the Houston Rockets that leaves the Western Conference semifinal series on the brink of conclusion. The veteran superstar scored 11 of his 30 points in the final six minutes, sparking a crucial run that turned a two-point deficit into a decisive win for Los Angeles. The Lakers now hold a commanding 3-0 lead in the best-of-seven series, one victory away from advancing to the conference finals for the first time since their 2020 championship run.

Watch the highlights:

The comeback was triggered by James' ability to penetrate the Rockets' defense and either score himself or find open teammates. His three-pointer with 2:34 remaining gave the Lakers the lead for good, and consecutive assists on the next two possessions essentially sealed Houston's fate. James finished with 30 points, nine rebounds, and seven assists in a performance that reminded many why he remains one of the most dangerous players in playoff basketball despite being in his 21st NBA season.

Austin Reaves contributed 22 points off the bench, providing crucial secondary scoring that the Lakers have desperately needed throughout the series. The guard knocked down three three-pointers and showed composure at the free-throw line in the closing minutes. Anthony Davis added 18 points and 14 rebounds, controlling the paint on both ends of the floor as the Lakers outscored the Rockets 48-34 in the second half.

The Rockets fought valiantly despite the series deficit. Jalen Green led Houston with 28 points, including five three-pointers, while Alperen Şengün recorded his fourth consecutive double-double with 19 points and 12 rebounds. However, Houston's inability to close out games has proven costly throughout the series, as they have now lost all three matchups by an average of 8.7 points.

Lakers head coach JJ Redick praised his team's resilience in the postgame press conference, noting that the comeback mentality has become a trademark of this group. The Lakers will look to close out the series in Game 4, with a potential conference finals matchup against either the Denver Nuggets or Oklahoma City Thunder awaiting them. Houston will attempt to avoid elimination and force a Game 5, though the odds clearly favor Los Angeles advancing.
