Lando Norris Launches Junior Racing Team and Driver Programme

Formula 1 world champion Lando Norris is launching a junior racing operation designed to help young drivers progress through the single-seater ladder. BBC Sport reported that LN4 Fusion, unveiled near Monza before the Italian Grand Prix weekend, will begin competing across multiple feeder categories in 2027.

The new team is scheduled to race in the Italian Formula 4 Championship, the FIA Formula Regional European Championship and the FIA Formula 3 Championship. It also intends to compete in Formula 2 next year, although BBC Sport said that application process has not yet been completed. The distinction leaves the Formula 2 entry as an ambition rather than a confirmed place.

Norris is also establishing the LN4 Legacy Programme, described as an independent and fully funded driver-development scheme. The initiative is intended to provide talented young racers with support and opportunities that may otherwise be beyond their reach. Norris said his own route to Formula 1 showed that talent alone is insufficient without the right people, backing and timing.

Rene Rosin will run LN4 Fusion after founding and leading Prema, a prominent junior single-seater organization. Julian Rouse, formerly responsible for Alpine's young-driver programme, will lead the development scheme. Norris will co-own the project with an investment group led by technology businessman Dan Richards.

The operation's main headquarters will be in Italy's Veneto region. A British arm based in Cambridgeshire will be led by Dan Hazlewood, head of the Fusion Motorsport karting team, and will operate a programme in British Formula 4. That structure gives the organization a presence in both European and British entry-level competition.

Norris has first-hand experience of the path the project is intended to support. He won championships in Formula 4 and Formula 3 before reaching Formula 1, and BBC Sport's report identifies him as the reigning world champion. His involvement links the new operation to a recent graduate of the same junior system, while Rosin and Rouse provide established management experience for its racing and development programmes.
