Korda Claims Third Major Title with Wire-to-Wire Victory at Chevron Championship
Jessica Korda produced a masterful display of controlled aggression to claim her third major title at the Chevron Championship, wire-to-wire victory cementing her return to the summit of women's golf.
The American led from the opening round at Carlton Woods and never looked troubled as she closed with a flawless 67, finishing five strokes ahead of nearest challenger Linn Grant. Her nearest competitor entered the final day seven strokes behind and couldn't mount a serious challenge as Korda's composure held firm.
"I knew if I played my game, nobody could catch me," Korda said after receiving the trophy. "I've been working so hard on my mental approach, and today I really trusted my process."
The 25-year-old's victory was built on exceptional iron play and a putting display that saw her rank first in strokes gained: putting for the week. She made eight birdies over the closing 18 holes, including three in her final five holes to underline her dominance.
Her previous major victories came at the 2021 KPMG Women's PGA Championship and the 2022 Women's Australian Open. The win also marks her third LPGA Tour title of the season, underlining her status as the player to beat heading into the summer major season.
Korda's triumph moves her back above Nelly Korda to reclaim the world number one ranking, a position she held before injury disrupted her 2025 campaign. With the U.S. Women's Open approaching in three weeks, she will enter as clear favorite.
"This one feels special because of how I had to fight back from injury," Korda explained. "To come back and prove I'm still at this level means everything."
