Owono said he would address the questions arising from the incident with respect, but that his immediate thoughts remained with the player and the shared pain of his death. The message was his first public statement following the fatal collision, Cadena SER reported.

De Miguel, 30, died after a collision with Owono during Monday's Spanish second-division match. BBC Sport reported that the teams were level at 2-2, seven minutes into stoppage time, when the incident occurred. Medical staff treated the striker on the pitch before he was taken to hospital. Owono was sent off and the match was abandoned.

In a separate statement on its official website, Andorra offered condolences to De Miguel's family and support to Tenerife's players, coaches, employees and supporters. The club said it had remained in contact with Tenerife and was available to help. It also confirmed that psychological support was being provided to those who needed it, citing the emotional impact on its players, coaching staff and wider workforce.

Andorra subsequently confirmed that its home match against Mallorca, scheduled for Sunday in Encamp, had been postponed following the club's request. Its announcement said LaLiga and Mallorca had supported the decision from the outset. A replacement date will be announced through Andorra's official channels once it is known; the notice did not give a new date.

BBC Sport also reported that Andorra's players observed a minute's silence before a voluntary training session on Wednesday, which Owono did not attend. Tenerife announced six days of official mourning and suspended club activities during that period. Its scheduled weekend match against Granada was also postponed, while the club planned to open its stadium on Saturday evening for supporters to pay tribute to De Miguel.
