Hull City confirm no injuries after car crash near training ground
Hull City say nobody was harmed in a crash near their training ground involving a car the BBC understands belongs to Lucas Gourna-Douath. Residents have raised safety concerns after a second incident on the same road in three weeks.

Hull City have said nobody was harmed in a road accident near their training ground, after a car overturned on Millhouse Woods Lane in Cottingham, East Yorkshire. BBC News reported that the black Mercedes involved was understood to belong to Hull midfielder Lucas Gourna-Douath. The incident prompted fresh concern from residents about safety on the street.

Images from the scene showed the Mercedes resting on its side, according to the BBC. One person told the broadcaster that the vehicle had also hit and damaged a resident's car. Hull said they were aware of photographs circulating on social media and confirmed that nobody had been hurt. Humberside Police said emergency services were called at 08:30 GMT.

The crash was the second involving a Hull City player on the same street within three weeks. Gourna-Douath's team-mate Sorba Thomas was involved in an accident there in September, the BBC reported. The latest incident has again drawn attention to a road used by local families as well as people travelling to and from the club's training ground.

Resident Paul Nickerson told the BBC he heard the noise of the crash and arrived shortly after the car overturned. He said his wife and children had been walking along the road on their way to school shortly beforehand. His account focused on how close the incident had come to their journey, rather than any injury to his family.

Another resident, Tracey Evans, said she had lived on the road for 19 years and had spent about a decade asking for a lower speed limit. She highlighted the presence of children heading to school and parents returning at that time of day, and called for measures intended to prevent a future incident. Her comments were reported by the BBC alongside the club's statement.

The report did not establish what caused the Mercedes to overturn. Residents' calls for changes to the road therefore remain separate from any finding about this particular crash. Hull's confirmed position was that no one had been harmed, while the account of damage to another vehicle came from a person who spoke to the BBC.
